How it works
A fraction numerator/denominator is the division numerator ÷ denominator. 1/4 is 0.25. Multiplying that decimal by 100 gives the percentage 25%. Improper fractions are allowed: 3/2 is 1.5 and 150%. A zero denominator is undefined and is not shown as Infinity.

- This is exact division in floating point, then rounded for display. Repeating decimals such as 1/3 show a rounded 0.333333.
