Days From Today Calculator
Convert the other wayDays AgoEnter a start date and a number of days to find the resulting calendar date, forward or backward.
How it works
This calculator adds or subtracts a whole number of calendar days to a start date. It works entirely on calendar dates (year, month, day) rather than clock timestamps, so the result never shifts because of time zones or daylight saving changes.
Formula
Result date = Start date ± Number of days
Worked examples
- 2024-01-01 + 30 days → January 31, 2024
- 2024-03-05 − 10 days → February 24, 2024
Useful notes
- Counts full calendar days, not 24-hour periods, so results stay correct across daylight saving time changes.
- Defaults to today's date in your browser — change the start date to calculate from any other day.
FAQ
- Does this account for leap years?
- Yes. Calendar day arithmetic automatically accounts for leap years, so February always has the correct number of days.
- Will daylight saving time affect the result?
- No. The calculation works on calendar dates only, not clock time, so daylight saving transitions never shift the result by a day.
- Can I calculate a date in the past?
- Yes. Choose "Before now (subtract days)" to count backward from the start date instead of forward.
